Banner-Regulatory Partnership Program : National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners - USAID

NARUC is pleased to announce that the Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) and the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Agency (RURA) are pursuing a Regulatory Partnership. NARUC, through cooperation and funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will implement this partnership.

The partnership is designed as a vehicle for the exchange of experience and information between U.S. and Rwanda regulatory bodies with the goal of improving regulatory practices and fostering long-term sustainable relationships between regulatory bodies in both countries. This partnership will allow RURA to have broad access to US regulatory practices and will enable the Missouri PSC to learn new techniques and methodologies as well as gain an understanding of the international regulatory environment.

The first activity took place in Kigali October 25-29, 2004, during which a delegation from the Missouri PSC visited RURA in Kigali, Rwanda. The partnership includes multiple activities in Rwanda and Missouri as well as Rwandan participation in training activities.
