NARUC is pleased to announce that the Illinois Commerce Commission and the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) of Kosovo are pursuing an Energy Regulatory Partnership. NARUC, through cooperation and funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission in Pristina, will implement this partnership. An inaugural activity is planned for fall 2008 in Pristina.
The partnership is designed as a vehicle for the exchange of experience and information between U.S. and Kosovo regulatory bodies with the goal of improving market-based regulatory practices and fostering deep regulatory synergies between both agencies. This partnership will allow ERO to have broad access to US regulatory environment and will enable the Illinois Commission to learn new techniques and methodologies as well as gain an understanding of the regulatory practices in Southeast Europe.
